Good Monday morning to all. Today is day #20 of #calypsohistorymonth As we start our work week, I want to highlight that consummate performer David Rudder. This Trinbogonian son of the soil now makes his home in Canada and usually plays to sell out crowds whenever he performs in his native T&T. His hits are too numerous to mention and the choice is hard but I want to highlight his hit Calypso Music which is very appropriate for the occasion. Enjoy and have a wonderful day today: https://youtube/watch?v=RFh9rFRxTp4 David Rudder was born May 6, 1953 in Belmont, Trinidad. David Rudder is one of the most successful calypsonians of all time. In 1977, he joined Charlies Roots, a leading band in Trinidad and Tobago, and spent many years as one of the bands vocalists. In 1986 he came to prominence on Andy Narells album The Hammer, which produced two big hits: The Hammer (a tribute to the late pannist Rudolph Charles) and Bahia Girl. This was followed in 1987 with Calypso Music, a brilliant encapsulation of the history of calypso. For more: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Rudder
