Good Morning Crazy Cousins….up and at ‘em. I have been under the weather for the past few days, so our posts have been a little scarce. I am back in the saddle after battling a nasty little congestion bug. A special thanks to Mrs. Chief for taking good care of me. I didnt miss the morning posts the last two days, because of my love for you all. Really. We have about 47 degrees outside of Police Headquarters. We will be close to 60 degrees again today, with partly sunny skies and a 40% chance of rain. There are no delays, incidents or arrests to discuss at this time. Today is November 5th, 2014. The 2015 Brimfest Crazy Cousins Reunion and Veterans Welcome Home Parade is Saturday, September 19, 2015. If you are a veteran, PLEASE make plans to be here. On this date in the year 1955…It’s the day Marty McFly arrived in Hill Valley of the past- he went Back to the Future- in Doc Brown’s DeLorean. Michael J. Fox is a nice fella. We hope he is doing well. The word for the day is… lagniappe (lan-YAP or LAN-yap) from Southern Louisiana and Southeast Texas. The word means, “ a small gift given with a purchase to a customer, by way of compliment or for good measure a bonus.” We use it in a sentence as follows: “In addition to the gumbo, the chef sent us some Cajun shrimp as a lagniappe.” And now the Brimfield Police Department Etiquette Tip of the Day: “Never offer to shake hands with a lady in the street, if you have on dark gloves, as you may soil her white ones.” Today is NOT my birthday. Happy Birthday to Famke Janssen. She is an actress. She was in the X-Men movies and lots of others. I think she is calling me, from a private number. She must have read about me on the inter-web. I don’t answer, because of my love for Mrs. Chief. Hollywood ladies just want to smooch you and run off, if you are an Internet sensation. I’m at the age where commitment matters. Happy Birthday to Sam Shepard (playwright, actor), Gary Fisher (bicyclist) and Art Garfunkel (singer). Gary Fisher is considered to be one of the inventors of the modern mountain bike. He was also not allowed to race once, because his hair was considered too long. Art Garfunkel sand with Paul Simon in a group named…Simon and Garfunkel. Happy Birthday to Bryan Adams.
