Good Morning Everyone, Our theme for this month: Obeying God - TopicsExpress

Good Morning Everyone, Our theme for this month: Obeying God when obeying isnt easy Our Bible verse for today: Five times I received 39 lashes from Jews. Three times I was beaten with rods by the Romans. Once I was stoned by my enemies. Three times I was shipwrecked. I have spent a night and a day in the open sea. On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own people, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the open country, dangers on the sea and dangers among false brothers; labor and hardship, many sleepless nights, hunger and thirst, often without food, cold, and lacking clothing. 2 Corinthians 11:24-27 (HCSB) Our thought for today: Our growth comes because of our circumstances, not in spite of them. God uses our difficult circumstances to teach us and to mature us. Sometimes He actually causes our circumstances for His divine purposes, but more often He simply allows them to occur through His permissive will. But then He goes to work in the middle of those circumstances to bring some good thing out of it for us (Romans 8:28). He teaches us, strengthens us, and helps us to grow in our spiritual maturity, as a result of the things we face, not in spite of them. Our job is to simply be faithful in the midst of it and to trust Him. The life of the Apostle Paul is a great example of this. The man who wrote two-thirds of the New Testament didnt wake-up one morning to discover that he had suddenly, mysteriously, become a towering man of God overnight. No. The growth came slowly, progressively, over decades of faithful service to the Lord. And most of his growth came about as a result of being faithful during the hard times. Few of us will ever have to endure the things Paul went through for the cause of Christ. But each of us will our own share of trying times. It is during those times that much of our spiritual growth occurs. Our job is to simply be faithful and trust God. God Bless, Pastor Jim
