Good Morning Illawarra! Well a much cooler day ahead with the coast expected to top out at 17c and the Highlands a whole 10c. Cloudy periods will occur on and off most of the day and there is a low chance (around 10%) of light showers. Forecast winds did not eventuate to strengths we expected and the Bureau of Meteorology has cancelled their Severe Weather Warning for strong winds in the Illawarra. When we forecast significant conditions or pass on a Bureau warning we actually dont want to hear back from people just because those conditions did not eventuate. It is quite rude to do so for a number of reasons. 1. We do not control the weather, people forget this fundamental concept. Because we dont control it, it is not our fault if it decides to not behave to our forecasts or warnings. 2. Meteorology is an imperfect science! Even the leading experts cannot make weather forecasts which are 100% accurate, there are so many factors which only need to change a little and it changes everything! Another point to mention is the reason we have this page is because all of us are keen atmospheric observers, that is part of our skills to safely chase storms year in, year out. Not only that we find out info fast because many of us have networked together since even before social media. We have read outs from Weather stations, High Resolution Sat Pics, High Resolution Radar and Lightning tracking, Aviation data, Synoptic charts and cutting edge computer model access and knowledge of how to read them. This is why ISC is a special page, you get the benefit of some absolute fanatics on Weather sharing their knowledge, observations and information. We tend to know about weather happening well before others ;) - Stephen
