Good Morning. In Luke 5:32 Jesus states the central focus of His mission while on earth. He said, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Here Jesus makes is clear that calling sinners to repentance is what is mission was all about. So if we are followers of Christ, then the central focus of our mission should be the same. Instead to spending so much time on programmes, we should be asking the Lord to assist us to finding the correct approach to helping those who are controlled by Satan to get free from his choking hands. Sis White said, “Those upon whom Satan exercises his power the most decidedly are the ones who awaken the sympathy of the Saviours great heart of love. He is ever having the ones gathered into the fold to go out into the wilderness to seek and rescue the lost sheep. He feels the tenderest love for those who are entrapped through the deceiving power of Satan. And when the lost sheep are indeed found by Jesus, what joy and rejoicing there is in the whole universe of heaven. . . His voice is heard in tones of yearning tenderness, entreaty, and love! Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:6, 7). . . . Mortal man cannot read the heart of man, and is often misled by outward shallow appearances. But He who can read the hearts of men as an open book never misjudges. . . . He knows the atmosphere surrounding each soul. He knows how many and fierce are the struggles of the human soul to overcome the natural hereditary tendencies and the sins which have become common through habit of repetition.” Jesus is the only one who can make the repentance of a sin sick soul be of any significance. I pray that not only will we heed the calling of the Lord to repent from our evil ways but we will also partner with Him in bringing this message of repentance to those who are lost in trespasses and sin.
