Good Morning Mississippi! Were off to a slippery start... Snow started falling between 5 and 5:30am in Central Mississippi and road conditions have deteriorated significantly. Heres my one bit of advice for the day... If you dont have a reason to be on the roads, then dont be out on the roads. A Winter Weather Advisory is still in place here in Jackson until 6pm this evening and a Winter Storm Warning from Jefferson to Smith counties and all points southward is in place as well. Several crews are working to clean up accidents already this morning. As sleet and snow continues to drop, in addition to frigid temperatures this evening, those roads are only going to get worse. Snow will eventually taper off this afternoon and well see mostly clear skies by the overnight hours. That will allow temperatures to drop into the teens just about statewide. The good news is, the deep freeze will not last long. We will start to see a warm up as we head into the weekend with a high on Saturday of 65°. -Brad Maushart WJTV
