Good Morning. There are times when the storms of financial difficulties, health problems, family issues and church disunity seem to be overtaking our lives that we don’t know where to turn for help. This morning the Lord is reminding us in Mark 4:39 that He has the power to calm the storms in our lives. The word of the Lord said “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” While the disciples were frantically trying to save their lives from the destructive storm on the sea it was not until Jesus stood up and said, “Peace be still”, that calm return to their situation. My friend, God is reminding us this morning that once He is in our lives we don’t have to worry about the issues and difficult circumstances that confront us. The word of this song reminds us that “with Christ in the vessel we can smile at the storm.” We must remember that Satan cannot do us any harm once the Master is in our lives. Based on the story of Job, Satan has to ask God permission before He is allowed to afflict our souls in any way. In 1 Cor 10: 13 the Apostle Paul also reminds us that “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” This is great news. Not only will we be able to bear the waves of our stormy situation, but with Christ in our vessel He will calm the way. So instead of trying to fix the problem ourselves, I pray that we will continue to look to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. He is the only one who can rescue us from the threatening storms of our lives and bring us back into a calm situation. Let us continue to put our trust in Him.
