Good Morning! Today we are thankful for our ground EMS providers. We have some of the best. These professionals daily interact with all types of patients and families. One minute they are on a routine transport and the next minute they are fighting for someones life. Its not easy to make that type of mental and physical transition. These professionals are the rock of emergency medicine. Their assessment of the patient and the situation is the beginning of a chance at survival for many. They make critical decisions with minimal information. They risk their lives and health to assist strangers. They are also our eyes and ears. Without their good clinical judgment, we would not be called for our patients. It is their judgment that decides the best mode of transport for the patient. It is their timely interventions that allow us to do our job in a time efficient manner. Without them, many patients would never have a chance at living. Without them, our world would be very different.
