Good Morning Vienna, Hello World, Today, a little story: when I was young (a long time ago ROFL!!!) we had a cat. Melanie (the cat) came from Strobl am Wolfgangsee and was a genuine »Bauernkatze« (peasant’s cat). She was highly intelligent, she was cute, she was just great!!! And she had a fantastic life because she could go »Strawanzen« (to roam). After a few weeks with us, I would say she was maybe 3 months old, she found out that she could go out of the flat via the kitchen window, jump on the various cornices and run into the gardens. We lived in the 19th district of Vienna, the »Cottage« area, where every house has a garden and the Türkenschanzpark is round the corner. Paradise for a cat! She would disappear, first just for a few hours, later on for days. She would bring home her booty: birds, mice etc… some times dead, some times alive. A few times she came home with scars, from the fights with other cats. As she was very big, she was fearless!!! She would love to be fondled! She was really cute!!! If I’m not mistaken, she lived 15 years. And I would say she had a really great life and gave us a lot of joy! And now to the music, my cat music: Why was our cat called Melanie?
