Good Morning and Happy Friday! RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY – HOW RESPONSIBLE ARE YOU FOR YOUR LIFE? How responsible are you for your life? How responsible for you for everything that happens in your life? Some of us believe we’re 100% responsible for things that happen in our lives. Others believe that we are not responsible because we don’t control everything, so maybe they believe that they are 50% responsible; responsible for what they control and not responsible for the 50% that they don’t control. In addition, how responsible are you for things that are unfair?If you were CEO of Company XYZ and there was a major accident that resulted in several employees being hurt, including the death of 5 employees, how responsible would you be? I believe that you’d be 100% responsible because when you accepted the job, you agreed to everything within your span of authority regardless of whether you controlled it, and regardless of whether it was fair. Why? Because “THE BUCK STOPS HERE”. Let’s assume that you are the CEO of “Your Life Inc.”. If you are CEO of “Your Life Inc.” and I’m CEO of “My Life Inc.” then we are responsible for everything that happens in our lives. Now, some of you may think that is a very scary thought, but I would dare to say that it is true; YOU ARE 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR LIFE BECAUSE ‘THE BUCKS STOPS HERE!’If you have a believe that you are 100% responsible for your life before anything happens, then once something comes into your life, you are also accountable for the results. Now if you believe that you’re less than 100% responsible then I would like to know if you are responsible for the part of your life that works, and others are responsible for what doesn’t work. The higher the percentage of ownership you have, the greater those chances are that you will get what you want, and even if you don’t, you’ll learn to make choices that get you closer to the results you want.
