Good Sunday evening and Happy New Year. This is Joseph Calhoun calling from the City of Portage with a quick message for everyone regarding today’s snowfall. Street crews have all main and secondary roads clear and will be working overnight to complete our plowing operations on the neighborhood streets and salt the roads for your morning travels. While this was a relatively minor snow event, it provides us with an opportunity to remind you of the street parking ban when 2 or more inches of snow have fallen. This is not the case with today’s snowfall, as we have just over an inch on the ground; however, we do ask that if possible, you still park off of the roadways overnight during any snowfall to help us in clearing the side streets more effectively. This week is forecasted to be the coldest of the winter thus far, so bundle up and take necessary precautions when outside. Thanks for your time and have a great evening and a prosperous 2015.
