Good advice from Laurie. As amazing as it sounds, the food that we eat actually contains an energetic vibration (the life force can be measured by Kirlian photography) that can create change in our bodies on a basic cellular level. Whole, real food that comes from the earth will help supply you with energy and invigorate you, while processed, pre-packaged “food” (and I use that term loosely) can leave you feeling grumpy, tired and uninspired. Why is this? Well, let’s use dark green leafy vegetables as an example. They are chock full of chlorophyll, which is basically like liquid sunshine. Chlorophyll is the substance found in plants that allows them to absorb the light from the sun and convert it into usable energy. By eating dark green vegetables (for example, broccoli, kale and collar greens), we are essentially filling our body with the plant’s life blood, which is the very thing that allows a seed to sprout and take form. Chemically, the blood of the plant, a/k/a chlorophyll, is really similar to our blood. When we consume chlorophyll, it helps us to oxygenate and breathe life into every cell of our body. Pretty cool, huh? Chlorophyll is also extremely cleansing and detoxifying. So how can you eat yourself out of a crappy mood? Skip the junk and processed foods and begin adding some of these high-vibrational foods into your daily meals: Fruits From Trees: Choose from apples, pears, bananas, coconuts, avocados, nectarines, peaches, plums, apricots, oranges, lemons, limes, mangos, pomegranates, blueberries, cherries, olives, etc. Non-green Veggies: Choose from artichokes, broccoli, carrots, celery, cauliflower, radishes, turnips, etc. The Superfood Raw Cacao: Raw cacao is chocolate in its pure form. It contains over 1200 phytonutrients and nutrients such as magnesium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, copper and manganese. It also contains phenylethylamine, which is the brain’s love chemical, and theobromine, which can pick you up and make you more alert and awake, similar to the drug caffeine. Goji Berries: Goji berries are another superfood that is packed with antioxidants, which can help to minimize free-radical damage to our cells. Cultured and Fermented Foods: Cultured and fermented foods are a fabulous source of probiotics in the form of food (rather than in pill form), that can help keep your digestion healthy and on track. We’ve all heard the saying, “You are what you eat.” It is absolutely true in the case of your food and your mood. I like to say, “Junk In = Feeling Like Junk” vs. “Eat Whole Real Food = Happy Mind, Happy Body & Better Mood.” If I were you, I wouldn’t just take my word for it though. By eating food that vibrates at a higher frequency, you can increase your personal life-force energy and feel more radiant inside and out. Test it out for yourself. I Triple Dog Dare You to. xo Here’s a simple and delicious smoothie recipe to get you started: PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE SMOOTHIE Ingredients: 1 to 2 cups coconut water, coconut or almond milk (depending on desired consistency) ½ cup frozen berries of your choice 1 banana ½ cup spinach 1 Tablespoon coconut oil 1 Tablespoon hemp seeds 1 Tablespoon chia seeds Handful of goji berries (optional) Pinch of cinnamon Stevia or raw honey to sweeten, to taste Ice (optional) Directions: To prepare, place all ingredients into blender and process until smooth. Enjoy! **Please note that stevia is up to 300 times sweeter than sugar, so if you are adding it in, use a little bit at a time and give it a taste test to determine your desired sweetness.
