Sparrow hawks can be seen regularly in the suburbs of Sheffield. Where this awesome predator once used trees as cover now seems to have adapted to use the houses and buildings as a screen, whipping around corners in a split second leaving the little or big garden birds no chance. Its aerial ability is breathtaking! This particular bird can be seen pretty much on a daily basis in the Frecheville area. Here it is on my lawn enjoying a feathered snack. The ariel shot is quite funny the pigeon and the hawk staring at each other. The Sparrow Hawk has no problem taking a pigeon even though it is smaller.
