Good afternoon Friends on electricity... The meeting I had with Mayco Member today in the Civic Centre was excellent. He brought all the directors and officials to come and account for things I have requested or complained about. ... 1. In KTC informal settlements a) Those people that needed reconnection with their electrical boxes were promised to get their boxes before December 2012. And up until now other shacks do not have their meters reconnected. We resolved that an official will investigate and furnishe with me a report and a team will be go out to reconnect those shacks immediately. b) All street lights in KTC are being fixed. We have started succesfully in Fenqe, Hewu, Dike, Sombo, Kolanisi, Maphasa and Ghawulethetha streets to mention a few now. There is a designated truct in the area that is fixing all the streets. Moreover, The truck is installing luminairs/lamps in streets where they not been for increase in lightning. c) In KTC along NY78 and Miller Road there will be new installations of luminairs/lamps for more light. 2. Hlazo Village a) This area will get new street light in all the six streets. It has been relying on a high mast that is situated next to the police station. Other streets have been dark because the light has not been reaching that far. It is on these basis that we will install new street lights. 3. Lusaka a) This area has 7 areas. There other 3 areas are informal settlements. These informal settlements rely on street lights as well but the poles are a distance to each other. More poles will be installed for better lightning in them. b) Phase 4. This area also relied on a high mast. But now there will be street lights installed in the area. c) Phase 1, 2 & 3. These areas will get additional luminairs/lamps to increase the capacity of lightning. 4. Ward 39. a) We have resolved that we will conduct an operation in all the areas to check on illegal connections in the ward. Those that will be found to have illegal connections will be prosecuted. #Here to serve you!
