Good afternoon/evening again everyone. Another great day in - TopicsExpress

Good afternoon/evening again everyone. Another great day in the US of A, the boys spent the day at New Richmond High School shadowing one of the players from the opposing team. What we have decided to do is rotate 3 players through the car that Mike is driving and give their impressions on the days events. Today we were lucky enough to have Mason, Ned and Dylan join us on the ride home. The conversation that transpired, whilst taking a left turn to Albuquerque well actually it was Kentucky, was quite inspirational as they were praising a number of their fellow players. Mason said: Going to New Richmond high school was a very unique experience. Being bombarded with questions was both amusing and a lot of fun. Shadowing our students was also really interesting, comparing what happens at their school with what happens back home. Their welcoming nature made the day a blast, (even including the swarms of girls who wanted photos!) and we cant thank them enough for the eye opening and opportunistic day. Ned said: Today was a complete culture shock in some aspects, shadowing the players was great and learning how they did things was interesting, especially in calculus. The people were accepting and curious as to our way of life and the similarities and differences down to every speck of detail. One huge detail that stood out for me was the pride they take in where they come from and the spirit of the students getting behind their athletic teams. The game was interesting as well as playing in front of a large number of people, at first it was quite intimidating, but quickly adjusting to the crowd helped to just get on with the game. overall the experiences today have made me more excited for whats to come! Dylan said: Attending New Richmond high school for the day was a surreal experience. The school day was both the same and different in many respects. Zac, The player I shadowed for the day, was undertaking a student teacher course. This led to the two of us to the elementary school in which we essentially observed the younger children undertake their class. Towards the end of the class students asked me questions about Australia. I had to contain a laugh when one student asked whether because you live in the southern hemisphere does that mean everything is upside down? The following classes were equally as memorable. Overall both students and teachers were very polite and intrigued as to what i had to say. The game that followed was great, though the celebrity like status that we all received post game, particularly by the girls, was crazy! The amount of photos I took with randoms gave me an insight to the life of a well known player! Overall Ive never been so sad that a school day has ended! Wow some great insights there!!! Tomorrow we will have the pleasure reading what Zac, Blake, and Nicho have to say. Now for something really exciting. You remember yesterday I posted that youd be able to hear the broadcast at some ridiculous hour of the morning; well today we found out that it wouldnt just be broadcast by radio it would also be video streamed. highschoolcube/event/lions-host-traveling-australian-team-402895 You still should be able to find the game Remember if you need to ask your boys anything or have a query about what we did in the days events dont hesitate to ask. Goodnight lets hope I can get some sleep (and/or finish this blog entry) as I have had a room full of visitors, and Zac hasnt left yet. :O
