Good article. I have to say though that on the point about live music, I prefer no music. I enjoy talking with my friends and others and enjoy a more public house type atmosphere. While I love music and have long collected it, it is subjective and it is very hard to suit everyones taste. If a place insists on having music it should be background and not ear shattering as was my experience at a brewery recently. My wife and I walked in and she immediately had to cover her ears and went outside to wait for me on the patio. Amplifiers in a confined space are mostly not needed. We were forced to drink our beers on the outside patio which was fine as the weather was beautiful (and the beers were great) but I doubt shell want to go back next time we are in the vicinity. I go to a brewery tap house for the beer - NOT the music.
