STRESS MANAGEMENT TIP: HAVE A CALM DAY. Once a week designate a CALM DAY. Devote at least a few hours that day to rest your brain. Not sleeping (though you should do that too), but what I want to call mindful resting. Be aware of any stressful thoughts that intrude during this activity and dismiss them, do not engage them. This is an opportunity to rest your overworked brain. You need it and deserve it. This is different from sleep because our brains are active at night, with little control over it. So, a few hours relaxing on the beach, listening to easy music, easy reading, meditating, non-strenuous yoga. A few hours for YOU to recharge. Plan it. Put this important stress management activity in your schedule for the week. BE CALM (then carry on).
