Good day, It is with great disappointment and sadness that I notify you I will no longer be traveling to The Gambia, West Africa for my mission trip October 14th - 24th. After careful thought and prayer, our Senior Pastor, Dr. Marcus D. King announced to the team yesterday that he felt it was best to cancel our mission trip to The Gambia this year with a hope to reschedule for Fall/Winter 2015. With the concerns regarding the Ebola virus and considering our travel plans (layover stop in Dakar), he felt it would be best if we did not go at this time due to team safety. It has also been decided to refund all donations that were given in order to assist me with the total travel and expenses which totaled $3,200.00. I am thankful that you had an open heart to give towards my financial efforts to travel to The Gambia to assist with the Rapha Medical Clinic and spread the Word of the Lord. In this decision you can choose to receive a total amount refunded back to you or for DC3 to keep the total amount which will be used to buy and ship the medicines and medical supplies to the clinic. In order to keep the process as clean as possible you cannot split your donated amount by donating percentages. You must either donate the full amount or receive the full amount back. I cannot respond to them on your behalf as it relates to your decision. Therefore, you must email the Witness Community (Ministry) at [email protected] and inform them of your decision by this Saturday, October 4, 2014. If you do not respond to them they will mail a check for the total amount you donated to the address you have listed on your checks, you listed during your online donation or on a DC3 envelope. I cannot express how thankful I am to you again for your financial support and prayers during our planning process. In the first quarter of 2015 our leaders will revisit the possibility of us going to The Gambia once they assess the virus status or we may support another geographical location (Haiti or Jamaica). We are sadden and disappointed, but am excited they still plan to travel somehwere and I pray that you will support me once again when the time comes for me raise funding that trip in 2015.
