Germany, Argentina and Belgium now join Brazil, Colombia, Netherlands and Costa Rica in the quarterfinals which will be played on Friday and Saturday. Netherlands midfielder Nigel de Jong will miss the remainder of the World Cup after sustaining a groin injury in Sundays match against Mexico. Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid after meeting the Spain internationals buy-out clause and will roughly pay a fee of €44m for the striker.
