Good evening Dear Friends, Last night I was telling Orest a good night story and after I was done he asked for an iPad and typed in it how car hit me?. I told him that it was the hardest and darkest day of my life.... I started crying and told him that I dont want to talk about it, because it hurts so much. I also told Orest that the day he was born was the happiest day of my life and he smiled at me with his amazing bright smile. Its hard to believe that it has been a year. There is so much Orest and our family has been through. Orest is working non-stop....no weekends off, no brakes, no holidays. We do therapy non-stop. Orest is getting better at using the iPad and learning the keyboard, so he can communicate. Orest is spelling words better and building sentences. For now they are short and consist of easy words, but that is still a change. Orest wants to play soccer and kickball and doing his best to gain more balance. He is trying to keep balance standing on one leg. Orest is walking on treadmill without holding on the rails with only minimal support at times. Orest is much more vocal. He cant make words or most of the letters, but he has a better control of his face. He can hold air in his mouth and that is a sign that one day Orest will be comfortable in the water again. We continue traditional and alternative therapies. Orest is so happy to know that so many people we know and many whom we have never met care so much about him and are excited for the improvements that Orest has shown over the past year.
