Good evening, Heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue to - TopicsExpress

Good evening, Heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect the southern half of the UK this evening, particularly across parts of the East Midlands, South East and East Anglia. There will be a risk of localised flooding with any thunderstorms that develop, so extra care is advised. However, the showers will be isolated and most places will avoid them entirely and remain dry with one or two sunny spells breaking through at times. Elsewhere conditions will remain generally cloudy, especially across E/NE parts of England & Scotland, although there are one or two breaks in the cloud across parts of the South West and Cumbria. During the overnight period further heavy & thundery showers will develop, affecting central & southern England and Wales. Again the showers will be fairly isolated and most places will avoid them. Elsewhere across the country, conditions will remain generally dry, with a mixture of clear skies and variable cloud cover. Where the cloud breaks occur, there is a risk of mist and fog patches developing. Across Scotland a weather front will progress southwards during the night bringing the risk of a few showers, although they will be fairly well scattered. In behind the front it will feel much fresher. Temperatures will range from 11°c – 14°c, however across the South we could see temperatures ranging from 15°c – 17°c making conditions feel rather humid. In behind the front across Scotland, temperatures will drop to around 8°c.
