Good evening. Our TGIF hostess could not turn up today owing to a freak argument between a metal door and her finger. Get better soon, Shaivya. So, since no one seemed in any mood to study, I asked another student if she would like to speak. She agreed, with alacrity. She began with brief descriptions about shamanism, the hippie generation, LSD, sacred geometry and the chakras. She then went on to speak about research regarding all the monumental structures in the world beginning with the Pyramids of Giza, those of Teotihuacán, and other places and she substantiated it with scholarly works written by scientists and geologists. She spoke about energy sources, about entering other dimensions and she concluded with a piece of psychedelic music. Please remember that this was completely unrehearsed and spontaneous. Unfortunately, though, there were a few negative vibes and closed minds within the class. Cant be helped, I suppose. The second discovery was in a Science division. A student has written the most exquisite couplets in a combination of Urdu and Hindi. He is very shy and reserved and he refused to read what he had written, till all of us closed our eyes (we really did) And I almost fell over in shock and awe, his verse was so elegant and classy. But he is so self conscious about them, that he has made me promise that even if I ever spoke about his poetry, I would not reveal his name, until he permits me to. So I shall not, much as I wish to. He sings about humanity, love, camaraderie and the gift of tears. But this young Shayar whose idol is the poet Munawar Rana, does not think his poetry is worth applauding. And they say teenagers are not people of substance! Have a blessed, safe night.
