Good evening, The Morris County Office of Emergency Management - TopicsExpress

Good evening, The Morris County Office of Emergency Management will be monitoring the Winter Storm Watch which is now in effect for Wednesday. At this point, the forecast calls for rain to begin early in the morning before it changes to moderate to heavy snow (wet and heavy) for the majority of the daytime hours on Wednesday, before it tapers off in the evening and overnight. Some power outages are possible with the combination of gusty winds and snow hanging on wires and tree limbs. Both rain and snow, will negatively impact the busy holiday travel period from Wednesday into Wednesday night. Because of the high volume of holiday traffic, travel plans completed before 10 AM Wednesday morning would avoid most of the trouble from this event. The snowfall estimate varies 3-6” dependent on your location, with 7” and perhaps more in the higher elevations . We will continue to monitor this event and post additional updates. Stay safe!
