Good evening and I hope that you all have had a great day and I hope that most of you have included the Lord in that day. As my day went on a thought came to my mind and would not go away so here at almost 8 oclock Sunday nite I have to share that thought with all of you.... There is a verse in the bible that I think all of us as followers can quote and that is John 3:16 and it goes something like this depending on the version you read: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who ever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. The verse after that one needs to be read I feel along with it and it says: For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world thru Him might be saved. As I think about these verses I ask myself if I would as a parent of a son be willing to give him as sacrifice for others so they could have everlasting life. My respond to that would be a loud no way not my son I love him to much and think that I would be safe in saying 99 percent of you as parents of a son would give the same respond.... Now my respond to that would be this. Can you imagine how much God loves us if He would give His only son, not one of His sons, (if He had more then one) but His ONLY son...From where I stand He must love us a heck of a lot to do that. Why then do we not want to accept that love for what it is. It is free with no strings attached other then we give that love back to Him. Thats all folks that He is asking of us and still many turn their backs on Him...Read these verses over and over again real slow until it really sinks in and then ask yourself why am I not accepting that love that God is offering and the everlasting life that is right there for the taking. It took me till later years of my life before I reached out and took that love that He offered and I have never looked back. It hasnt been all a bed of roses after I did , but what He does tell us is that He will be there to help us on the journey. I hope and pray that all that dont know Him as your Lord and Savior would read these verses over and over and open your heart to His calling and believe me when I tell you that you will never be sorry.
