Good evening everyone. Football may be a game of inches, but - TopicsExpress

Good evening everyone. Football may be a game of inches, but weather is a game of minutes. The cold air arrived about an hour or so too late for most of us north of Atlanta to see snow with the main precipitation shield. That said, many folks did get in on some wrap around flurries, and a dusting occurred over much of the area NW of the ridgeline. Now the view turns towards very, very cold temperatures overnight. Lows will dip into the teens for the higher elevations, and fall into the low-20s pretty much everywhere else. Some of the warmer areas around the Gainesville/Commerce heat islands could remain in the mid-20s, which is still plenty cold. Thanksgiving looks absolutely gorgeous, but a bit chilly with highs only in the upper-30s for the mountains with everyone else in the low/mid-40s. Winds will be light, however, so it will feel much warmer than today. We will warm more Friday before a reinforcing shot of cold keeps us in the 40s again Saturday. Our next chance of rain comes late Sunday and Monday. Otherwise, here is the 5-day forecast: Overnight: Clear and cold with NW winds diminishing. Lows from the upper-10s to mid-20s. Thanksgiving Day: Sunny and cool. Highs from the upper-30s to mid-40s. Thursday night: Clear. Lows from the low-20s to upper-20s. Friday: Sunny. Highs from the mid-40s to low-50s. Friday night: Clear. Lows from the mid-20s to low-30s. Saturday: Sunny. Highs from the low-40s to upper-40s. Saturday night: Clear. Lows from the mid-20s to low-30s. Sunday: Increasing clouds. Highs from the upper-40s to mid-50s. Sunday night: Cloudy with isolated showers possible. Lows from the low-30s to upper-30s. Monday: Cloudy with scattered showers. Highs from the low-40s to upper-40s. I hope each of you has a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving.~TW
