Good evening fellow HB Petters , oh ,sounds a bit rude ! What a day I had... SPCA came to collect 6 female dogs for sterilisation, okay can cope with that, then get a call from an owner in IY whose dog got stabbed in the head, I am always dubious of these calls as it is usually been caught on wire or some such, sadly not this time...nasty head wound, off we went to HB vets, thought I would visit them this time , always have a laugh ,Dr Paul is always glad to see me! The dog was stitched up and, he is stable.. you do know I am referring to Paul...!!! Will chase the culprit who did this ! Next off to Penzance to check on another stitch up ,an old dog slashed on the neck, I have never had so many cruelty instances, got to get the Caring Classroom programme going... Then thinking about making lasagne for dinner when I get a call from home one of my sick dogs has crashed... off I go, forget lasagne Stu... Take him to HB Vets the pup was hypoglycaemic (low blood sugar) Jackie and Emma put a cannula in the hind leg....how they found the vein ... gave IV dextrose and the pup regained consciousness, in the background Paul was giving advice!! Jackie placed a feeding tube into his oesophagus and off I go...Pup is now stable on IV fluids and feeding thro the tube... Stu got beans on toast!!!
