Good evening girls. Ive been trying to upload this all day! I hope you managed to join in Mass this morning. Today is the Solemnity of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, who Fr Morgan calls the two great arms of the Catholic Church. (Even from here, I can hear you asking Who the heck is Fr Morgan...?!) Ive been hanging out with this guy a lot while in Brisbane. Super educated, super cool guy. Ill introduce you to him one day, if he ever heads up to Yeppoon or you come down Brisbane way :). Anyway, this homily relates directly to our Catholic identity. Therefore, I thought it was well worth sharing with you. There are two questions that Im going to leave you with, the answers being in the Scripture of today, and in the homily Fr Morgan gives. In todays Gospel reading, Jesus asks the question Who do you say I am?. Much later, in Peters apocryphal Gospel (maybe you should look up the word apocryphal too), Peter, startled to see Christ in Rome, asks Him Quo vadis?! or Where are you going?, which, funnily, completely changes the direction that Peter himself is going - he does a 180 degree turn and follows Christ to his own crucifixion. So Who is your Christ? And Where are you going, given who your Christ is?
