Our friend Justen Garrity, an Iraq War veteran, started Veteran Compost after returning from the war when he had a hard time finding employment (did you know veterans are 40 percent more likely than other Americans to start a business?). Justen has offered to make Arcadia a non-profit beneficiary! Heres what it means for you: sign up for Veteran Composts weekly residential service (just $25 a month) and mention Arcadia when you contact them… that will get the ball rolling. Well get $1 every month that you participate as a customer. VC will give you a 7-gallon bin and will pick it up once a week. You can put ALL of those food scraps you generate -- including meat and dairy! -- every week in the bin, and they will pick it up and replace it with a clean bin.
