Their goal, presumably, is to abandon San Francisco and Los Angeles, and whatever state regulations they find unfair. “California is essentially ungovernable in its present size,” spokesperson for the Jefferson Declaration Committee Mark Baird said, according to the Redding-Record Searchlight. “We lack the representation to address the problems that affect the North State.” One secession supporter said the state has “turned us into a Third World country.”
