Good morning! Beems Peel is being released today by Ausland Schläge via cassette/digital format on bandcamp. Its a fantastic album of electrons and Fredrik Mjelle melts funk, r&b, 80s pop, future, etc. together like a master chocolatier. Its been said (jokingly) by his European comrades that he is the skweee artist that girls like, which, in my opinion, can only be taken as a complement. His music is fun and optimistic. At any rate, I really love the opening track Automan and when Matthew asked me if I wanted to do a remix for this release, without hesitation I chose Automan. The song has a certain feel about it that I didnt really want to change so I ended up making a cover of the song rather than remixing it. My remake is at a much slower tempo than the original, but I tried to retain what I loved about the track and rather than remix it, I chose to pay a closer tribute to it. Being a fan of and having played other styles of music, I am quite familiar with bands doing cover songs. However, covering an instrumental electronic song struck me as uncommon and exciting!
