Good morning, Father God . . . As we pray through the New - TopicsExpress

Good morning, Father God . . . As we pray through the New Testament, we come to Hebrews 2:5-3:6. We’re exceedingly grateful for the Lord Jesus and the mission He accomplished here on earth on our behalf: “But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone” (2:9). Indeed, Jesus is the founder of salvation, the one who enables us not only to come to know You but also to ever grow toward greater godliness. In Your immense love, Jesus graciously calls brothers and sisters all whom He leads to You. We see afresh here why Jesus went to the cross: “that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery” (2:14-15). Yes, the author of Hebrews speaks of Jesus’ superiority not merely to angels but also Moses, the hero of this initial Hebrew audience through whom You gave Your Law. Father God, may I live in light of these spiritual truths evident in this passage: sin separates and all suffer from it; the Son, Jesus, saves through His sacrificial suffering; the Holy Spirit sanctifies day by day. I yield my life afresh to You today, Lord, to work in and through me according to Your will.
