Good morning. Have you ever noticed that a kid can be sick and they will play right up to the moment they throw up, then a short time later they will play again. Like a kid, many of us are not in tune with what our bodies are trying to tell us and we keep surging forward doing the same things without getting the message. WE ARE INDIVIDUALS. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another because each lifestyle, waking, eating, and sleeping patterns are different along with what stresses us along the way. You may be planning your meals every few hours, following your program, and still feel sluggish or have munchies that are trying to derail you. Thats your body talking to you. You have probably learned that carbohydrates are the gas and energy in your tank, and protein fills you longer and works primarily to repair. So its important to pay attention to how you feel the hour AFTER you eat, until you learn what works best for you. For instance...three people eat the exact same thing: A chicken breast and an apple. *The first person may feel great, have plenty of energy, no munchies, and makes it to the next meal just fine. *The second person may have plenty of energy, but they have the munchies and feel like they are still hungry or edgy. They may find that they work better with a larger serving of protein and a half apple to counter balance the hunger issue. *The third person may find they are sluggish, tired and out of energy. If they adjust their portion so that they are getting a bit less protein and one and a half servings of apple, they will have more gas in their tank to keep them going until the next meal. All are eating the same exact meal. The only difference is intake. Paying attention to how you feel and tweaking your portions to match what your body needs may be the simple key to keeping you on track and successful.
