Good morning, It is a beautiful sunny, cold morning here although a bit breezy. Looks like the North/North East is bearing the brunt of the weather at the moment so hope those of you in that area keep safe. Mum came home the night before last , the canula having been left in her arm. It was quite a mission to get someone to come and remove it. As they were not answering the phone at the Surgery, I went down there and explained She spoke to our GP, who asked her to phone Community Nurses (I witnessed her doing this) at Spalding about 20 miles away and they would refer back to the Community Nurses at the Town where Mum lives. As I had been told they finished at 5, I went back down to the surgery to tell them we were still waiting. On the drive down there the time check on the radio said it was already 5 (Parents clock was 10 minutes slow} so spoke to a woman getting into her car who looked like a nurse and was the sweetest person. We went back into the surgery and she spent half hour trying to find out what happened to referral. So to cut a long story short, An emergency nurse came round at about 6 and removed canular. She gave us an hour of her time and assessed Mum (thank goodness) and sounds like I may be able to get some help, which I dont think Mum and Dad are happy about. Sorry to be so longwinded, rant over but there are people willing to help and who understand Alzeihmers . Have a great day, whatever you are doing and hope the weather is kind to you all. x
