Good morning! Prayers for understanding and comfort to those grieving, for contentment to those dealing w/worries, for patience to those waiting on answers, and for forgiveness for all of us for the many times we fall short....hope ev1 has a blessed day. Think of yourself the way Christ Jesus thot of himself. Philippians 2:5 Service starts in your mind. To be a servant requires a mental shift, a change in your attitudes. God is always more interested in why we do sumthing than in wht we do. Attitudes count more than achievements. Servants thnk more abt others than abt thmselves. This is tru humility: not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less. They are self-forgetful; whn we stop focusing on our own needs, we become aware of the needs around us. Jesus emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant. You cnt be a servant if youre full of yourself. Unfortunately, a lot of our service is often self-serving. We serve to get others to lik us, to be admired, or to achieve our own goals. Tht is manipulation not ministry. The whole time were really thinking abt ourselves and how noble and wonderful we are. Sum ppl try to use service as a bargaining tool w/God: Ill do this for you God, if youll do this for me. Real servants dnt try to use God for their purposes. They let God use thm for His purposes. Becuz they remember they are loved and accepted by grace, servants dnt hav to prove their worth. They willingly accept jobs tht insecure ppl wud consider beneath thm. Insecure ppl are always worrying abt how they appear to thers. they fear exposure of their weaknesses and hode beneath layers of protective pride and pretensions. the more insecure you are, the more you will wnt ppl to serve you and the more you will need their approval. Sevants dnt need to cover their walls w/plaques and awards to validate their wrk. they dnt insist on being addressed by titles and they dnt wrap thmselves in robes of superiority. they finf status sumbols unnecessary and they dnt measure their worth by achievements. The closer you get to Jesus, the less you need to promote yourself. Albert Schweitzer said, The only really happy ppl are those who hav learned how to serve. One of my lifes mission is to be a happy person
