Good morning Sunday. In my last post i focussed our attention on the potential factor. I enjoyed reading it myself and have to adjust my views or attitudes as well. I believe that when you step out of the natural and into the spiritual and let the Holy Spirit use us as vessels, then we too are spoken to. In this mail i want to try and explain a practical application of capturing the rewards of identifying potential. Because my office day on average is 8h00-19h30, Deirdre thought it appropriate to buy me some plants as a gift. One was a plastic lined wooden box with sand in it. All i had to do was plant some fancy carrot seeds provided. Immediately i see the potential in this whole operation. I then go into a “marketing strategy” of how i will be exporting the carrots. This little 200mm square planter is now the focus of the whole office. It gets watered, spoken to, turned toward the sun etc. It has everyone’s attention and allows me an opportunity to engage one on one with them on personal matters. Point one scored. But how are the carrots growing? has the potential multi-million export empire taken off? Unfortunately not. I really not know why but the carrots look like a total flop. All ten of them. Now there must be reasons for it. Perhaps • The air conditioning in office; planted in the wrong season; over watering; insufficient sunlight, i was supposed to plant six and not ten. I suppose the list can go on and go. Do i now roll over and sit depressed in a corner NO. A couple of weeks ago i was eating a naartjie. Instead of throwing the pips away i stuck about six pips in that same tray, all between the not so nice looking carrots. Guess what. I have six little extremely healthy little trees doing their thing between the carrots. Did i expect the trees to appear? Not at all. I do not even know if it grows from “fresh pips” But guess what? The planter has regained it’s multi-million Rand potential. Let me explain how it works. At the moment i have three trees from six pips planted ie. A 50% return. Let’s be very conservative and say that from each of these trees i get ONLY TEN naartjies, a total of thirty. With that all i can do is to enjoy the fruit of my labour. It is at this point where we must look for the potential. Being Scriptural i am going to refer you to a scripture which tells us not to eat our SEED. Eat what you can eat but do not destroy or eat the pips. PLANT THE PIPS. Ever considered how many pips there is in thirty naartjies and once that is planted what your yield of pips would be. THE PIPS IS THE POTENTIAL, and where the millions are locked up in. I can just hear my family saying i suppose we will have to pack and start to work on a naartjie farm. Who knows? What have i scored through this lesson? I enjoyed the wealth of the returns of my farming venture which is what i am after. You see the farm may never materialise, just like my carrots but the excitement attached i have lived already. I have captured that moment. It is called stepping into your future. In the Spiritual realm there are no time restraints. I can only trust that the above word will be a seed (pips) sown into your lives. I am expecting a harvest and my farm has no boundaries. In honour to the life of Joan Darries – an educator against all odds .May the seeds she has sown in the class room yield a bountiful crop. RIP
