Millaa Millaa Golf AFTER much rain in the past few weeks golfers put up with balls disappearing into mud and not much run. However, some good scores came in for the Hugh’s Ballroom Trophy Day, played as a two-ball medley ambrose. With impressive long drives and spectacularly long putts, Alan Hapgood and Ashley Healey were hard to beat, coming in with a 60 nett, runners-up were Graham Suffield and Ray Marsh with 60.5 nett. Nearest the pins went to Alan and Ashley on 1/10, Bruce Hunter and Greg Taylor on 5/14 and 6/15 and Graham Suffield and Ray Marsh on 9/18. Next Sunday is the Malanda RSL/Malanda Dairy Centre monthly medal. Tee off 10.30am. Ravenshoe Golf LAST Wednesday’s nine-hole social chook run was won by Lois, who won the ladies least putts as well. Ian and Dave were runners-up. Nearest the pin was won by Mike, our overseas visitor. On Saturday afternoon the Tradies had their six-hole competition and this was won by Roger with runner-up Shane, who also won the NTP. The “purse”’ was won by Caroline, but Wally said the least she could do was donate the purse money. On Saturday afternoon our juniors had their competition and Jordan was the winner here with Toby the runner-up. The Doug Nasser-sponsored 18-hole stableford on Sunday was won convincingly by Caroline. Merv was runner-up and Shane second runner-up, and NTP. Lois won the ladies longest drive and Simon won the men’s.
