Good morning all - hope your day is getting off to a canny start. Humour, now there’s a thing! Roy Chubby Brown, Jim Davison, Bernard Manning, Frankie Boyle. Isy Suttie, Tim Minchin, Stewart Lee, Tony Law. Michael McIntyre, Miranda Hart, Peter Kay, Sarah Millican. Some of us may well say there’s nowt wrong with the first group - if yer easily offended stay away! Some may well be offended by that first group and prefer the humour of the third group - some may well fit into the alternative comedy experience of the middle Group. Some of us may well like all of the above! When close to 900 of us come together in a Group like ours the one thing you can say without any doubt is…we are all different, all have our individual sensitivities and all have differing boundaries of acceptability. When James and me set this page away we never wanted to have to say to anyone - if your easily offended stay away, we were both part of other groups that imploded and in the end became pages neither of us wanted to be part of - our aim to this day is still to have a group, no matter what the size, where everyone feels included and feel comfortable to be part of. We may be deluded - I hope not! Sometimes posts come onto the page that may not be to everyones humour or viewpoint - what usually then follows is a thread of differing opinions and views which is absolutely fine but experience has shown us that things easily get out of hand and when this happens that is the time we step in to remove posts - its nothing personal against the originator of the post or anyone on the thread and thankfully it is very rare that we ever have to do this. I appreciate we are all different but as I regularly remind us all to do, take a look at our pinned post, if we are the Group for you, you are so welcome to be part of it. For some though we are probably too safe, squeaky clean and too much like Sunday Night at the Palladium’ - well, we are what we are and I make no apologies for that but as long as we all follow the ethos of the Floppsie Group anyone and everyone is welcome to be part of it. Its simple - we are a safe haven for folk to make lasting friendships, read posts and look at pictures from the past as well as the present day. If you are a member of this fine little Group, you will also have your own page - now what you put on there, well that’s entirely up to you - you should see mine man, its xxx rated! ;-) Anyhoo, as per usual - I’ve gone on a bit too much (cue Anne Burgon to have a pop) so I’m off to make a cup of tea and sit down to watch my box set of Roy Chubby Brown!
