Good morning all.... As usual I went out walking my little dog max [a mini schnauzer mix] I forgot my glasses.. but, I was too lazy to walk back and get them. Anyway, on the way back I saw a dog, a pit bull running towards me.. I pick up Max and start walking home. The dog came next to us and I started jumping on me to get to max.. I was holding Max high so the pit bull could not get him. I have never seen this dog before and I know almost every dog in this area. I could not get this dog away from me and Max.. I started screaming and yelling loudly .. finally someone came out to throw out there garbage and the dog ran to there garbage outside to be picked up... I started running with max cradled in my arms and tears streaming down my face... What a sight I must have been.. having just rolled out of bed in PJs and slippers running out of sheer fear and anger that someone could just let there dog out loose like that. I called animal control and I explained what happened .. I told her what the dog looked like... she wrote down my home address and then she got another call and put me on hold. She came back to me and said the pit bull was just picked up by there owners .. it got out accidentally and they were looking for it ..all morning. I felt kind of foolish..but, not knowing the dog the owners... The animal control person said the pit bull was a pit bull mix six months old and very playful... {I thought to myself that is why max wanted to play and was not afraid of the dog] The moral to the story... next time I wear my glasses..
