Good morning all. What a great day yesterday was. Along with the donation we picked up from Mucho Burrito, which we already posted about, we also had a donation of Halloween goodies(thank you for that, I think that is a great idea), we also had two large donations of food, gifts, personal care products, Christmas tree(a draw is going on for that so if interested in it scroll down to that post), decorations, wrapping needs and so on. I was in complete shock when we received both donations. I didnt expect such large donations to start coming in right away. The pictures show the food separated into boxes already(meal food, goodies, personal hygiene). The gifts, tree and such are down in the extra rooms we are storing them in. So this is just what we got so far from the last two donations last night. We still have a bit over a month to collect donations. And even though this looks like a lot(and it is) we still need much much more. If this keeps up we might be able to help every single family. Now I just wanted to clear something up because there was a bit of confusion yesterday. Yes we are still taking names of families but we are stopping our list when it hits fifty. I never through it would get that big to begin with. And I hate to put a cap on it but we just started this group a few weeks ago and our goal was 25 families. With donations like yesterday we have a chance at helping 50 but I dont think we could do more then that the first year. I really hate to say no to anyone in need but when we do reach 50 I will have to put up a notice that we can help any one else. And for that I apologize. I really do wish we could help everyone. Right now we are at 46 families. Our volunteer/donation list is up to 40 and our membership is up to 224. So keep sharing the page please. Also for those donating, making crafts or baking. We in no way expect someone to do something for all 50 signed up. Not unless you truly feel you can. This project is not about a few doing a ton till they are over whelmed. It is about many people coming together and doing what they can to help. Many hands make light work. So the more people who want to do something the better. So if you can only donate one item we are just as happy to receive that one item as when someone does a large donation. All of it is equally important. So please only do what you feel you can. Do not pressure yourself. This is about having fun giving to others. Hmm I think that is it right now. Still needing letters to be delivered. We want to have all the businesses receive letters no later then the 15th. To give the business time to look it over and decide if they want to help. If you want to take a donation letter somewhere message me and I will let you know if a letter has gone there already. We are still in need of wrapping supplies for when we do the wrapping party in Dec. And Patty is collecting bottles as well for getting gifts.
