Good morning, all! While we have rain showers in the forecast today, many eyes are on next week. Temperatures in the 60s are in the rear-view mirror. As advertised, a major cold snap is on the way (believe it or not, the reason is because of a super typhoon near Japan!). Temperatures mid-next week will be nearly 25° below normal. Highs will be in the 20s/30s. With a WNW wind, its possible the lake effect snow machine gets cranking up. Obviously, its still way too early to fine-tune timing, potential accumulation, etc. However, it certainly is worth keeping an eye on. Well be sure to update you as we get closer and closer. Below is the new GFS model run, verifying on Wednesday. The pink color indicates temperatures 1mi in the sky in the single digits. That means air temperatures at the surface in the 20s and 30s.
