I left Disney a year ago today. There have been many times throughout the course of the past year where I wished I couldve gone back, and worked with my friends again at Disney, but at the same time, Im extremely grateful for the multitude of things Ive done/experienced over the last year (that I wouldnt give up for anything) and for the opportunities that are visibly on the horizon. Hopefully someday, Ill be in the position to bring my friends to me for work (or to send work to them), and the first small steps of that process are already in the works, as Im getting ready to work my first consulting job as a puppet specialist for a local theater company, and Ive been tapped to collaborate on an original play mounting next spring as a puppet specialist and an art director. Even if these opportunities fall short, for whatever unforeseeable reason, its nice to be considered and recognized every once in a while :) (Plus, I got to go back to California earlier this year, and work with some of my friends again (on different projects) anyway ;) )
