Good morning, brothers and sisters. Welcome to church. I trust you - TopicsExpress

Good morning, brothers and sisters. Welcome to church. I trust you had a productive week, last. Hope you know its courtesy of my unrelenting prayers for you that you go from day to day, week to week like Superman? I therefore cant understand this your aka-gum syndrome. I think I need to arrange a deliverance service to slap this spirit of stinginess outta yall. Better bring your tithes and offerings now before I vex. Yes, to todays sermon. Praise the Lord! People of God rejoice with me. I have been given a US visa. And theres a thunderous clapping and ooooh-oooooh-ing in joint appreciation to God for this miracle. How many of us are familiar with such scenarios? Im talking US, UK, Canada, Germany, and many other prospering countries. Note that most times, it isnt as though there are jobs waiting for these emigrants wherever. Neither have they been promised a bed of roses overs, yet most would do anything to run there. These are countries without ghost workers, where people pay taxes, where the Law works, where there are institutions and where just a very infinitesimal proportion of the population is above the Law. Yet, the embassies of these countries in Nigeria overflow with applications from Nigerians. The same Nigerians who accuse politicians who are very technocratic and are on a drive to rid Nigeria of all her ills, tagging them elitist in the process. I was chatting with a friend yesterday and he mentioned to me that civil servants in Edo and Osun states are revolting against competency tests teachers have been subjected to and my heart sank. Like, people could actually have a thing against such an initiative? Yet, they complain about school fees? Whats the essence of schooling if the teachers would do more harm than good? Yet, these are Nigerians who fast and pray to travel abroad in search of greener pastures. Imagine that they destroyed their own countries like we are doing ours. So I ask: is this wickedness on the part of the masses? Youre happy when your child gets a visa to travel to a country where things work yet you dont want Nigeria to progress? And to those who benefit from those ghost workers scam. Do they pay tithe on salaries collected on every fictitious staff name? When will we get our acts right? When? Just when?
