Good morning everybody, today will be a beautiful but cold day, - TopicsExpress

Good morning everybody, today will be a beautiful but cold day, highs just above freezing for most areas, partly sunny this morning, clouds increasing in the afternoon. As a short wave approaches our area tonight, it will allow for an easterly wind component at low levels to drive in off the ocean, producing snow showers. Eastern MA areas could actually see 1-4 inches of snow, as an inverted trough sets up, focusing low level moisture in that area. Eastern zones of Western Mass could see a coating possible, and all areas of Western Mass could see some snow showers in the predawn hours tomorrow into the early afternoon. We will just have to see how robust this easterly fetch becomes. We stay in the 30s tomorrow and Monday, before our next systme comes in during the predawn hours of Tuesday. It could start as some snow, sleet or freezing rain, but should quickly go to rain Tuesday, as a storm undergoes strong development out towards the Great Lakes. This inland will open up the tropical floodgates, wrapping in tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, and hurl it northwards towards New England, on strong and gusty southwest winds. We could see Wind Advisories or High Wind Warnings posted for Wednesday, along with Flood Watches or Flood Advisories. We could see gusts up to 55mph, and rain up to 3 or 4 inches. A wild, windy and wet day coming up for the Tuesday-Wednesday time period. Have a great day.
