Good morning everybody, we have a beautiful day today, with partly sunny skies and highs well into the 40s, which is 10-15 degrees above normal for late December (highs usually in the mid 30s on average). Tomorrow will be in the 40s as well, but it is a transition day, with showers moving in ahead of a cold front during the pre-dawn hours and during the day. Temps will fall into the 30s by end of the day as the winds back around from the northwest after the cold frontal passage. Could even see a flurry or snow shower as colder air moves in. Next week, for now, looks much colder and dry. We will see some days where we wont even hit 30 degrees, and lows will be in the teens. There will be southern waves and northern waves, and we will have to watch them closely to see if any link up to produce storms over Western Mass. For now, it doesnt look like that kind of phasing will happen this upcoming week, but still needs to be watched. One thing is for sure - cold air is on the way for the New Year.
