Good morning everyone. A fantastic start to the Easter weekend - TopicsExpress

Good morning everyone. A fantastic start to the Easter weekend for most of the UK with plenty of sunshine expected for many throughout today. Many places will see almost unbroken sunshine all day long although some fair weather cloud will develop at times, especially in South Western parts of England and South Wales. Patchy cloud is also likely at times along Eastern coasts and coastal areas of South East England, this perhaps thick enough to produce a little drizzle at first today but most areas will remain dry with sunny spells developing through the morning. Cloud will increase in the far North West of Scotland although it should remain mainly dry for the majority of the day - perhaps a little light rain or drizzle for the Western Isles as we go into the evening. A fine and sunny day to come for Northern Ireland too, but we see a little high cloud moving in from the West later this afternoon turning the sunshine hazy in places. Winds will be light for most of the UK, although breezy at times along Eastern Coasts, East Anglia and the far South East of England. Winds will also increase in the far North and West of Scotland as we go through the day. Todays pollen count will be moderate for the majority of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Southern Scotland. High levels are expected in Eastern parts of Scotland but the far North and West of Scotland will see a low pollen count today. The UV index today will be moderate for England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Southern Scotland. Low levels are expected in Northern and Western parts of Scotland. Despite all the sunshine temperatures will be rather on the cool side, especially in Eastern parts of England, with maximum values typically ranging from 10°C here to 15°C further West in England and Wales. Scotland will see top temperatures ranging from 9°C to 14°C with the mildest of the weather being in Eastern parts away from the coasts. Highs in Northern Ireland today ranging from 10°C to 15°C. Although the temperatures arent really remarkable, it will feel pleasant in the strong spring sunshine, especially inland, and with moderate UV levels those who burn easily may want to consider wearing some sun protection. This evening we see cloud continuing to increase in North Western Scotland with some patchy light rain and drizzle possible, especially in the Western Isles, especially later in the night and towards dawn. Elsewhere in Scotland there will be less in the way of cloud, especially in the South and East and a frost is likely in places here. High cloud in Northern Ireland will continue to spill in from the West although some clearer spells are possible at times and it will remain dry. A touch of frost is likely, especially in rural areas. England and Wales see a relatively clear night although some patchy cloud will begin to affect South Eastern areas later in the night. A frost is expected in places, perhaps rather widespread across parts of Central and Southern England, although the far South West of England should escape frost free as temperatures hold up here. Minimum temperatures tonight generally ranging from 2°C to 6°C for England and Wales but colder than this in rural areas, particularly in Central and Southern England where some places may see temperatures fall a degree or so below freezing. Milder in far South Western parts of England with temperatures perhaps holding up around 7°C or 8°C in places. Wales will see overnight lows ranging from 2°C in Eastern parts to 7°C in the West. Minimum temperatures in Scotland typically ranging from 2°C to 5°C, although milder in the North and West with values perhaps falling no lower that 7°C in the Western Isles. Temperatures in Northern Ireland falling to around 2°C to 5°C overnight. Thats your weather. Have a lovely Good Friday. - Jon
