Good morning everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful day today. Nehemiah 9:1-11:36 The Scriptures 1998+ (1) And on the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Yisra’ĕl were assembled with fasting, and in sackcloth, and with earth on them. (2) And the descendants of Yisra’ĕl separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins, and the crookednesses of their fathers, (3) and they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Torah of יהוה their Elohim a fourth part of the day, and a fourth part they were confessing and worshipping יהוה their Elohim. (4) Then Yĕshua and Bani, Qaḏmi’ĕl, Sheḇanyah, Bunni, Shĕrĕḇyah, Bani, Kenani stood on the stairs of the Lĕwites and cried out with a loud voice to יהוה their Elohim. (5) Then the Lĕwites, Yĕshua and Qaḏmi’ĕl, Bani, Ḥashaḇneyah, Shĕrĕḇyah, Hoḏiyah, Sheḇanyah, Pethaḥyah, said, “Rise, bless יהוה your Elohim forever and ever! And let them bless Your esteemed Name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise! (6) “You are יהוה, You alone. You have made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that are on it, the seas and all that are in them, and You give life to them all. And the host of the heavens are bowing themselves to You. (7) “You are יהוה, the Elohim who chose Aḇram, and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gave him the name of Aḇraham, (8) and found his heart trustworthy before You, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Kenaʽanites, the Ḥittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Yeḇusites, and the Girgashites – to give it to his seed. And You have established Your words, for You are righteous, (9) and saw the affliction of our fathers in Mitsrayim, and heard their cry by the Sea of Reeds, (10) and gave signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land. For You knew that they acted proudly against them. And You made a Name for Yourself, as it is this day. (11) “And You split the sea before them, and they passed over into the midst of the sea on the dry land. And their pursuers You threw into the deep as a stone into the mighty waters. (12) “And You led them by day with a cloudy column, and by night with a column of fire, to give them light in the way they were to go. (13) “And You came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them straight right-rulings and Torah of truth1, good laws and commands. Footnote: 1Traditionally rendered laws of truth, of which we also read in Mal. 2:6, while it is rendered in Rom. 2:20 as the truth in the law. (14) “And You made known to them Your set-apart Sabbath, and You commanded them commands and laws and Torot1 , by the hand of Mosheh Your servant. Footnote: 1Torot - plural of Torah - teaching. (15) “And You gave them bread from the heavens for their hunger, and brought them water out of the rock for their thirst, and said to them to go in to possess the land which You had sworn to give them. (16) “But they and our fathers acted proudly, and hardened their necks, and did not obey Your commands. (17) “And they refused to obey, and they remembered not Your wonders that You did among them, and hardened their necks, and in their rebellion they appointed a leader to return to their bondage. But You are a forgiving Eloah, showing favour, and compassionate, patient, and of great kindness, and did not forsake them. (18) “Even when they made a moulded calf for themselves, and said, ‘This is your mighty one that brought you up out of Mitsrayim,’ and worked great blasphemies, (19) yet You, in Your great compassion did not forsake them in the wilderness. The column of the cloud did not turn away from them by day to lead them on the way, nor the column of fire by night to give them light in the way they were to go. (20) “You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them1, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst. Footnote: 1Prov. 1:23, Ezek. 36:27, Zech. 7:12. (21) “And for forty years You sustained them in the wilderness – they lacked not. Their garments did not wear out and their feet did not swell. (22) “And You gave them reigns and peoples, and apportioned them their lot. So they took possession of the land of Siḥon, and the land of the sovereign of Ḥeshbon, and the land of Oḡ sovereign of Bashan. (23) “And You increased their children as the stars of the heavens, and brought them into the land which You had said to their fathers to go in and possess. (24) “So the sons went in and possessed the land, and You humbled before them the people of the land, the Kenaʽanites, and gave them into their hands, with their sovereigns and the people of the land, to do with them as they desired. (25) “And they captured walled cities and a rich land, and possessed houses filled with all good, cisterns already dug, vineyards, and olive-trees, and fruit trees, in plenty. So they ate and were satisfied and grew fat, and delighted themselves in Your great goodness. (26) “But they became disobedient and rebelled against You, and cast Your Torah behind their backs. And they slew Your prophets who had warned them, to bring them back to Yourself. And they worked great blasphemies. (27) “Therefore You gave them into the hand of their enemies, who distressed them. And in the time of their distress, when they cried to You, You heard from the heavens. And according to Your great compassion You gave them saviours who saved them from the hand of their enemies. (28) “But after they had rest, they turned back to do evil before You. Then You left them in the hand of their enemies, so that they ruled over them. But when they turned back and cried out to You, You heard from the heavens, and delivered them according to Your compassion, many times, (29) and warned them, to bring them back to Your Torah. But they acted proudly, and did not obey Your commands, and sinned against Your right-rulings, ‘which if a man does, he shall live1 by them.’ And they gave the rebellious shoulder and hardened their necks, and would not hear. Footnote: 1Lev. 18:5, Mt. 19:17, Lk. 10:28 & John 12:50. (30) “And You had patience with them for many years, and did warn them by Your Spirit, by the hand of Your prophets, yet they would not give ear. Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. (31) “But in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them nor forsake them, for You are an Ěl of favour and compassion. (32) “And now, our Elohim, the great, the mighty, and awesome Ěl, guarding the covenant and the kindness, let not all the trouble that has come upon us, our sovereigns and our heads, our priests and our prophets, our fathers and on all Your people, from the days of the sovereigns of Ashshur until this day, seem little before You. (33) “And in all that has come upon us You are righteous, for You have done truth, but we have done wrong. (34) “And our sovereigns, our rulers, our priests, and our fathers, have not done Your Torah, nor heeded Your commands and Your witnesses, with which You witnessed against them. (35) “For they have not served You in their reign, or in Your great goodness that You gave them, or in the large and rich land which You set before them – neither turned back from their evil deeds. (36) “See, we are servants today! And the land that You gave to our fathers, to eat its fruit and the good of it, see, we are servants in it! (37) “And its rich yield goes to the sovereigns You have set over us, because of our sins. And they rule over our bodies and our livestock at their pleasure, and we are in great distress. (38) “And because of all this, we are making a trustworthy pledge, and write it. And our rulers, our Lĕwites, our priests set their seal on it.” (10:1) And those who set their seal were: Neḥemyah the governor, son of Ḥaḵalyah, and Tsiḏqiyah, (2) Serayah, Azaryah, Yirmeyah, (3) Pashhur, Amaryah, Malkiyah, (4) Ḥattush, Sheḇanyah, Malluḵ, (5) Ḥarim, Merĕmoth, Oḇaḏyah, (6) Dani’ĕl, Ginnethon, Baruḵ, (7) Meshullam, Aḇiyah, Miyamin, (8) Maʽazyah, Bilgai, and Shemayah. These were the priests. (9) And the Lĕwites: both Yĕshua son of Atsanyah, Binnui of the sons of Ḥĕnaḏaḏ, Qaḏmi’ĕl. (10) And their brothers: Sheḇanyah, Hoḏiyah, Qelita, Pelayah, Ḥanan, (11) Miḵa, Reḥoḇ, Ḥashaḇyah, (12) Zakkur, Shĕrĕḇyah, Sheḇanyah, (13) Hoḏiyah, Bani, and Beninu. (14) The leaders of the people: Parosh, Paḥath-Mo’aḇ, Ěylam, Zattu, Bani, (15) Bunni, Azgaḏ, Bĕḇai, (16) Aḏoniyah, Biḡwai, Aḏin, (17) Atĕr, Ḥizqiyah, Azzur, (18) Hoḏiyah, Ḥashum, Bĕtsai, (19) Ḥariph, Anathoth, Nĕḇai, (20) Maḡpiʽash, Meshullam, Ḥĕzir, (21) Meshĕyzaḇ’ĕl, Tsaḏoq, Yaddua, (22) Pelatyah, Ḥanan, Anayah, (23) Hoshĕa, Ḥananyah, Ḥashshuḇ, (24) Halloḥĕsh, Pilḥa, Shoḇĕq, (25) Reḥum, Ḥashaḇnah, Maʽasĕyah, (26) Aḥiyah, Ḥanan, Anan, (27) Malluḵ, Ḥarim, Baʽanah. (28) And the rest of the people, the priests, the Lĕwites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all those who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands unto the Torah of Elohim, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, all who had knowledge and understanding, (29) were joining with their brothers, their nobles, and were entering into a curse and into an oath to walk in the Torah of Elohim, which was given by Mosheh the servant of Elohim, and to guard and do all the commands of יהוה our Master, and His right-rulings and His laws, (30) and that we would not give our daughters as wives to the peoples of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons, (31) and that if the peoples of the land bring wares or any grain to sell on the Sabbath day, we would not buy it from them on the Sabbath, or on a set-apart day, and we would forego the seventh year and the interest of every hand. (32) And we imposed commands on ourselves, to give from ourselves yearly one-third of a sheqel for the service of the House of our Elohim: (33) for the showbread, and for the continual grain offering, and for the continual burnt offering of the Sabbaths, of the New Moons, for the appointed times, and for the set-apart offerings, and for the sin offerings to make atonement for Yisra’ĕl, and all the work of the House of our Elohim. (34) And we cast lots among the priests, and the Lĕwites, and the people, for bringing the wood offering into the House of our Elohim, according to our fathers’ houses, at the appointed times year by year, to burn on the altar of יהוה our Elohim as it is written in the Torah, (35) and to bring the first-fruits of our soil and the first-fruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, to the House of יהוה, (36) also to bring the first-born of our sons and our livestock, as it is written in the Torah, and the firstlings of our herds and our flocks, to the House of our Elohim, to the priests attending in the House of our Elohim. (37) And that we should bring the first-fruits of our dough, and our contributions, and the fruit from all kinds of trees, of new wine and of oil, to the priests, to the storerooms of the House of our Elohim; and the tithes of our land to the Lĕwites, for the Lĕwites should receive the tithes in all our rural towns. (38) And the priest, son of Aharon, shall be with the Lĕwites when the Lĕwites receive tithes, and the Lĕwites bring up a tenth of the tithes to the House of our Elohim, to the rooms of the storehouse. (39) For the children of Yisra’ĕl and the children of Lĕwi bring the offering of the grain, of the new wine and the oil, to the storerooms where the vessels of the set-apart place are, where the priests who attend and the gatekeepers and the singers are, and we should not neglect the House of our Elohim. (11:1) Now the rulers of the people dwelt at Yerushalayim, and the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to dwell in Yerushalayim, the set-apart city, and nine-tenths were to dwell in other cities. (2) And the people blessed all the men who volunteered to dwell at Yerushalayim. (3) And these are the heads of the province who dwelt in Yerushalayim, but in the cities of Yehuḏah everyone dwelt in his own possession in their cities – Yisra’ĕl, the priests, and the Lĕwites, and the Nethinim, and the sons of Shelomoh’s servants. (4) And in Yerushalayim dwelt certain of the children of Yehuḏah and of the children of Binyamin. Of the children of Yehuḏah: Athayah son of Uzziyah, son of Zeḵaryah, son of Amaryah, son of Shephatyah, son of Mahalal’ĕl, of the children of Perets; (5) and Maʽasĕyah son of Baruḵ, son of Kol-Ḥozeh, son of Ḥazayah, son of Aḏayah, son of Yoyariḇ, son of Zeḵaryah, son of Shiloni. (6) All the sons of Perets who dwelt at Yerushalayim were four hundred and sixty-eight brave men. (7) And these are the sons of Binyamin: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Yowʽĕḏ, son of Peḏayah, son of Qolayah, son of Maʽasĕyah, son of Ithi’ĕl, son of Yeshayah; (8) and after him Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred and twenty-eight. (9) And Yo’ĕl son of Ziḵri was their overseer, and Yehuḏah son of Senuah was second over the city. (10) Of the priests: Yeḏayah son of Yoyariḇ, Yaḵin, (11) Serayah son of Ḥilqiyah, son of Meshullam, son of Tsaḏoq, son of Merayoth, son of Aḥituḇ, was the leader of the House of Elohim. (12) And their brothers who did the work of the House were eight hundred and twenty-two; and Aḏayah son of Yeroḥam, son of Pelalyah, son of Amtsi, son of Zeḵaryah, son of Pashhur, son of Malkiyah, (13) and his brothers, heads of the fathers’ houses, were two hundred and forty-two; and Amashai son of Azar’ĕl, son of Aḥzai, son of Meshillĕmoth, son of Immĕr, (14) and their brothers, mighty brave ones, were one hundred and twenty-eight. And their overseer was Zaḇdi’ĕl, son of the great ones. (15) Also of the Lĕwites: Shemayah son of Ḥashshuḇ, son of Azriqam, son of Ḥashaḇyah, son of Bunni; (16) and Shabbethai and Yozaḇaḏ, of the heads of the Lĕwites, over the outside work of the House of Elohim; (17) and Mattanyah son of Miḵa, son of Zaḇdi, son of Asaph, who was the leader who began the thanksgiving with prayer, and Baqbuqyah the second among his brothers, and Aḇda son of Shammua, son of Galal, son of Yeḏuthun. (18) All the Lĕwites in the set-apart city were two hundred and eighty-four. (19) And the gatekeepers, Aqquḇ, Talmon, and their brothers keeping guard at the gates, were one hundred and seventy-two. (20) And the rest of Yisra’ĕl, of the priests, Lĕwites, were in all the cities of Yehuḏah, each one in his inheritance. (21) But the Nethinim dwelt in Ophel. And Tsiḥa and Gishpa were over the Nethinim. (22) And the overseer of the Lĕwites at Yerushalayim was Uzzi son of Bani, son of Ḥashaḇyah, son of Mattanyah, son of Miḵa. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the work of the House of Elohim, (23) for the sovereign’s command was upon them – and support for the singers, a matter day by day. (24) And Pethaḥyah son of Meshĕyzaḇ’ĕl, of the children of Zeraḥ son of Yehuḏah, was the sovereign’s deputy in all matters concerning the people. (25) And at the villages with their fields, some of the children of Yehuḏah dwelt in Qiryath Arba and its villages, and in Diḇon and its villages, and in Yeqaḇtse’ĕl and its villages, (26) and in Yĕshua, and in Molaḏah, and in Bĕyth Pelet, (27) and in Ḥatsar Shuʽal, and in Be’ĕrsheḇa and its villages, (28) and in Tsiqlaḡ, and in Meḵonah and its villages, (29) and in Ěn Rimmon, and in Tsorah, and in Yarmuth, (30) Zanowaḥ, Aḏullam, and their villages; in Laḵish and its fields; in Azĕqah and its villages. So they dwelt from Be’ĕrsheḇa to the Valley of Hinnom. (31) And the children of Binyamin: from Geḇa, Miḵmash, and Ayyah, and Bĕyth Ěl, and their villages; (32) Anathoth, Noḇ, Ananyah; (33) Ḥatsor, Ramah, Gittayim; (34) Ḥaḏiḏ, Tseḇoʽim, Neḇallat; (35) Loḏ, and Ono, and the Valley of Craftsmen. (36) And of the Lĕwites, the divisions of Yehuḏah were for Binyamin. Mat 6:9-13 Our Father who is in the heavens, let Your Name be set-apart, let Your Kingdom come, let Your desire be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us away from temptation, and deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, Forever. Amen. Num 6:22-27 YHWH bless you and guard you; YHWH make His face shine upon you, and show favor to you; YHWH lift up His face upon you, and give you peace. 2Co:13:14 The favor of the Master Yahu’shuah Messiah, and the love of Elohim, and the fellowship of the Set-apart Spirit be with all of you. Amen. Bradley T. Bjerken Bond servants of Yahu’shuah Messiah
