Weather Situation A slow moving surface trough extends from the Gulf Country towards the southern interior of Queensland. A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the east Queensland coast. The ridge will weaken as the high shifts east through the Tasman Sea during the next few days. A weak trough will shift west over the Coral Sea towards the east tropical and central Queensland coasts during Wednesday. Dry conditions will persist throughout much of southern and western Queensland throughout the forecast period. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and morning drizzle areas about the eastern tropics. Isolated showers and storms over the Peninsula and through the northern Gulf Country, more frequent north of about Weipa. Isolated showers about the central coast, possibly developing southwards towards the Capricorn and Fraser coasts. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Moderate southeast to northeast winds in the north, fresh at times about the coast.
