Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team throughout Lancaster is working with the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust to promote safer cycling for children. There is an opportunity for your child to receive a Helmet Watch pack if they are seen wearing their helmet whilst cycling. Your local Officers are handing out these packs which contain an eraser, safer cycling advice and a chance to enter a Prize draw. The aim is to build awareness of safer cycling and to ‘Cycle Smart’ by encouraging the use of cycle helmets to protect your child’s head. The packs will be given out to children aged 15 years or under if they are spotted wearing a cycle helmet. You can find more information on the Helmet Watch scheme by visiting BHIT.org
