Good morning everyone, So I feel the need to vent this morning. Some of you may not like what I have to say but hey it is “my” status after all. So today fast food workers are supposed to be striking across the nation. They want to be allowed to unionize and get a wage increase to $15 hr.… 15 a hr.…seriously for what? Geez I mean what exactly do you think yall do that’s worth 15 hr. Its fast food and no one is going to pay that just to be served some fries and chicken nuggets. You are doing a task that takes absolutely no skills or talent and before someone tries to defend them I worked at McDonalds trust me you can get anyone off the street to work there. People fast food is supposed to be a stepping stone to the next thing not the primary means to support yourself and your family. Don’t mean to offend but that’s just reality. Also let’s not forget if we double your pay then guess what we have to double the pay of the supervisors and managers and a whole host of people which in turn cuts into the company’s profit margin. You think they are going to eat that cost… nope. What they will do is fire half the staff and pass the rest of the costs on to the consumers. , effectively raising the price of a happy meal to about $10. Which in turn people will not want to pay so they stop eating their and the company winds up going out of business and you end up without a job. Ahh and let’s not forget if you join a union you will have to start paying union dues… This whole thing just seems like a wasted effort. If you want to make more money work hard gain skills and knowledge and find a different job.
