One of the most celebrated and influential musicians of the 20th century, Elvis Aaron Presley was born today in 1935 in Mississippi. Besides his singing, was an actor too. His music genres included pop, blues, and gospel. Elvis is credited as being the best-selling solo artist in the history of recorded music. He was a Grammy winner, and was inducted into multiple music Hall of Fames. One could write endlessly about Elvis. Sadly his later years saw a decline in his health because of drug usage, and he died in 1977. I saw Elvis perform in Las Vegas in 1972, and shall never forget it.
